The verge is the edge of the roof at a gable end, where the tiles finish. Bargeboards are the boards fixed along that sloping edge, covering the ends of the roof timbers.
On many older roofs the verge is finished with mortar. Over time the mortar cracks and comes loose, which lets water in and can drop pieces of mortar onto the path or car below.
A dry verge system replaces the mortar with interlocking caps that are mechanically fixed to the roof. There's nothing to crack or fall out, it needs no maintenance, and it keeps the end tiles secure in high winds.
Timber bargeboards rot in the same way as fascias. We remove them and fit uPVC bargeboards in a colour to match the rest of your roofline, usually at the same time as the dry verge and fascias.
Dry verge and bargeboards are usually fitted as part of a full roofline replacement, but we can also do them on their own if that's all your roof needs.

A dry verge is a system of interlocking caps that secures the edge tiles at a gable end, replacing the old mortar that cracks and falls out.
Mortar verges crack with age, frost and movement. Once they start to break up, a dry verge is the long-term fix.
Usually, yes. A dry verge can normally be fitted to an existing roof.
Yes, though it's often worth doing them with the fascias so the whole roofline matches.
Dry verge caps and bargeboards come in colours to suit most roofs and rooflines. We'll match them to your tiles and fascias.
