A single leaking joint can often be resealed. But when gutters drip at several joints, sag between brackets, overflow in heavy rain or have been patched more than once, replacing the run is usually better value than repairing it again next winter.

Usually because they're blocked, sagging so water pools at one end, or too small for the roof. Deep-flow guttering carries far more water if the roof is large.
